The Rambla is situated in a pleasant residential area close to all local amenities including a post office, shops, a chemist and a library.

The Rambla aims to provide its residents with a secure, relaxed and homely environment in which their care, well being and comfort are of prime importance. Our philosophy of care based on six core values of care, aiming to provide residents with: Privacy, dignity, independence, choice, fulfilment and basic human rights.

Residents of both sexes who are over 50 years of age are admitted only on the basis of a full assessment undertaken by staff trained to do s. In this way we will be able to ensure that assessed needs can be met.A month’s trial is always recommended before taking permanent residency. The Rambla has 30 single bedrooms, of which 18 have their own en-suite facilities and all bedrooms comply with current regulations in respect of room size.

All the residents’ bedrooms are furnished and equipped to assure comfort and privacy and to meet their assessed needs. Residents are welcome to bring small items of furniture, ornaments and pictures. There are two elegant sitting rooms and a comfortable dining room, all of which overlook the garden. An attractive feature of the Rambla is the garden with lawns, patios, rockeries and a gentle stream. Access into the garden is possible for all residents including wheel chair users.

Wide range of activities

The Rambla offers a wide range of activities designed to encourage and stimulate the residents. Staff encourage and help residents to pursue their interests and hobbies.

The Rambla employs an activities coordinator who spends time with residents both on a one to one basis and in group activities. A wide ranging programme of events is available which is adapted to suit the individual requirements of residents however it is important to note that activities may not be available for all residents and that participation is dependent upon their individual needs.

Staff numbers and the skill mix of qualified and unqualified staff are always appropriate to the assessed needs of the residents. Training is seen as an integral part of the Rambla’s philosophy of care. Staff are given every opportunity to develop their professional skills by attending training courses.
